I don't know how to describe this movie, other than to say it's really good! Real Steel is a movie about fighting robots, but it's also a heartwarming story about a deadbeat dad who comes around to love his son. That sounds cheesy. But it's accurate.
The story is cute, the robots are awesome, and the fights look real. It's been described as "Rocky with robots". How can it get better than that? I did not expect to love this movie as much as I do. It's really a good movie. I've watched it three times in the last two weeks - that's worth something, right?
My favorite robot is Atom. He stars in my favorite fight scene - Atom vs Zeus. Zeus is this gigantic, seemingly unstoppable robot who is not only undefeated, but no robot has gone more than one round with him. Atom is smaller and less experienced, but is also really good. Who do you think will win? I'm not telling. Atom also dances with Max (played by Dakota Goyo) and it's pretty much the cutest thing ever. Get to know Atom:
