Happy New Year, Loves!

This?

I giggled so ridiculously hard at this. I finally watched this movie yesterday, and I love it. Super cute.

Have a happy New Year's Eve! And to you and yours, I hope 2011 brings you everything you hope and dream for. I leave you with my favorite part of the festivities...

Wordless Wednesday - The Christmas Massacre of 2010

All I can say is that this year, we were very blessed. It was an amazing Christmas.

Don't make me turn this car around.

April 2010

December 2010

Wow. Look at the difference less than a year can make.

I came to a realization this weekend. Punk is not our little girl anymore. She's turning into a young woman. She is starting to form her own opinions and make her own decisions and talk in her own way and like her own things. And it scares the hell out of me. I'm scared to death she will turn into the teenager I was, and instantly hate me just because I'm a parent. I'm afraid to lose the bond we have. I've become more than just an extra Mom to her, I feel a lot like her friend. She calls me when she's bored, and talks to me for hours. She texts me when she's got nothing else to do. And I cherish that! I love that she feels like she can talk to me about anything. I absolutely adore the time we spend together, when she jabbers on and on about everything in her day, from her socks to her lunch to her teacher. How do I keep that connection there? How do I not lose it when she becomes the typical teenager? It makes me laugh to see her do things that I know she gets from me. Sometimes you look at a situation and just think, I've got to be doing something right. I feel like my entire life with her is like that. There are days when I feel like a total failure as a Mom and then she'll do something that reminds me so much of me, or something I've told her, or she will tell me she learned something from me, and it changes it all in an instant. Life as a stepmom is hard sometimes, but at least there are moments when it feels worth it, and those moments are getting more frequent.

A=B but B doesn't always equal A.

Please don't ever ask for me to explain the title, okay? I am super tired and possibly getting sick because for the life of me, I can't get moving. Please send help. With Rockstar Punched.

I hope everyone had the most perfectest Christmas ever! Mine was incredibly good and I think I overdid it but Punk was happy, Husband was happy, Turbo was happy, and that makes me happy, so it's alright. It took us two hours to open presents, after Santa stuff had already been gone through. Last year, I was sure this would be the year Punk would figure out the Santa thing but she seemed more sure than ever that Santa is real this year. We had to bake cookies and put them out with milk, plus carrots for the reindeer. Those big deer had better be happy. Welp, now it's time for some "getting to know you"! If you guys want to go ahead and play along, whether in the comments or on your blog, that would be okay with me. Just saying.

If you could have an endless supply of any food, what would you get?
If it's warm, ice cream. If it's cold, cupcakes.

If you were an animal, what would you be and why?
A cat, because they are spoiled! Or a bird, because flying would be pretty fantastic.

What is one goal you’d like to accomplish during your lifetime?
I want to get over my fear of myself. I would elaborate but it wouldn't make sense right now.

When you were little, who was your favorite super hero and why?
Ninja Turtles. They are super heros, don't tell me they aren't! They are fighting, ninja, turtles. Super.

Who is your hero? (a parent, a celebrity, an influential person in one’s life)
There are lots of heros in my life, for different reasons.

What’s your favorite thing to do in the summer?
Go to the sand dunes.

If they made a movie of your life, what would it be about and which actor would you want to play you?
It would be about my life, right? Because it would be a movie of my life? How boring. I would want Scarlett Johanson to play me because then people will think I'm really hot.

If you were an ice cream flavor, which one would you be and why?
Amaretto with maraschino cherries and cookie dough. Because everyone would think I was crazy but then they would get to know me and be like, yah, she's crazy but she really is good!

What’s your favorite cartoon character, and why?
I love BooBoo Bear because that's where my nickname comes from. I love the Ninja Turtles, as previously discussed. I love Pascell from Tangled because he's the cutest chameleon ever.

If you could visit any place in the world, where would you choose to go and why?
I really want to go to Australia because I want to see kangaroos all over like cows here, and I want to touch a koala bear even though I know they aren't soft, and I want to scuba dive the reef and play with sharks.

What’s the ideal dream job for you?
Ice cream flavor tester, roller coaster tester, bow maker

Are you a morning or night person?
I'm an afternoon person. My body thinks I'm a morning person but it's lying because every morning, I want to kill people and eat their brains. But then because I've been awake for so long because my body thinks I'm a morning person, I get really tired at night so then again, I want to kill people and eat their brains.

What are your favorite hobbies?
I love the sand dunes, I love to craft, I really love my new pit bike, and I'm pretty excited about the dragster becoming a new hobby.

What are your pet peeves or interesting things about you that you dislike?
Pet peeves: the noise you make when you chew, misuse of to, too, two/their, there, they're, blowing your nose in public, lying, disloyalty, lying to make people feel better, inability to stand up for yourself.
Interesting things about me that I dislike: I am too loyal, I let myself get hurt to spare others' pain and sometimes that eats me alive from the inside out, I can't let go of past hurt, I am too organized, I am stubborn

What’s the weirdest thing you’ve ever eaten?
Chicken hearts

Name one of your favorite things about someone in your family.
My little sister - she talks a million miles a minute and gets louder and higher pitched the more excited/stressed/mad she gets, and I am one of the only people that understands her sometimes. I am like her interpretor, and it makes me giggle.

Tell us about a unique or quirky habit of yours.
I separate my food when I eat because if my food touches not on purpose, I cannot eat it. Seriously.

If you had to describe yourself using three words, it would be…
neurotic, loyal, fun

If someone made a movie of your life would it be a drama, a comedy, a romantic-comedy, action film, or science fiction?
Action film, definitely. I do all my own stunts, too.

If I could be anybody besides myself, I would be…
This question is weird. I want to be... hrm... uhhhm... I don't know.

Snow. And then snow. And then more snow.

Oh yah, and some snow.

Snowed 8 inches Sunday night.

Snowed 14 inches last night.

No snow plows to be found.

Makes me happy to pay taxes. (Sarcastic much?)

Happy holidays to everyone! I hope it's perfect beyond words. I gave some money to some random person who needed it. Made me feel good. I absolutely love giving, way way way more than I love receiving. Not saying I would give up my pit bike... but still, I'm more excited to give Husband his present!

Maybe I'll post more between now and then, but just in case I don't,

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Exciting stuff in 2011.

Wow, typing 2011 scares me! Why does life go by so fast? I swear...

Anyway, I wanted to share a few things I'm excited about from Walt Disney in 2011. I know I've already posted about some, but still, let me remind you of how big a dork I am, alright? Just deal with me, please? :)

February 11: GNOMEO & JULIET, also in 3D

Gnomes are cute. End of story.

February 18: I AM NUMBER FOUR, also in IMAX

I've seen the preview for this movie a hundred times now, and although I feel like they could have been more creative with the name, it looks pretty good.

April 22 (Earth Day): AFRICAN CATS

I take special interest in this movie because I have a thing for big kitties. Hence, my psycho demon cat that's part leopard.

May 20: PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, also in Disney Digital 3D

Johnny Depp. Need I say more?

June 24: CARS 2, also in Disney Digital 3D and IMAX 3D

So ridiculously excited for this one, it worries me.

November 23: THE MUPPETS

It looks like they moved the release date up on this; don't let it sneak up on you! It will be good, I just know it.

What are you excited to see in 2011? What movies am I missing on this list?

Wordless wednesday - I already miss summer.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

It's so fluffy I'm gonna DIE!

How sad is it that I haven't seen Despicable Me yet? Pretty sad, because I want to see it desperately.

It was released today, so I guess what I'm trying to say is... who's getting it for me for Christmas? Because I pretty much need it. I tried to upload a really cute coloring page and a spectacular activity page but apparently Blogger hates PDF. Lame, Blogger.

Lame.

I wanted you to print it out and color with me. And now we can't bond. That's pretty darn rude.

Anyway, go out and get this movie. Scratch that - get two of this movie and send me one. I promise to love you forever.

Best. Husband. EVER.

He was too excited for me to wait until Christmas for my present, so I got it today...

Crappy camera phone, in the dark, but it's a pit bike. (!!!) A Pitster Pro 140R, to be exact. (Imagine a 4-year-old that just opened the latest and greatest Barbie or something equally as exciting. That's me right now. I got told my teeth are starting to blind people from smiling so big.)

Best Christmas ever, and it's not even Christmas.

I'm almost as excited to give him his present, which is epic and seriously I should win some sort of great wife award for it, but I can't say anything just in case he reads this before Christmas. :D

She's crafty! (AKA gigantic enormous huge craft supply sale)

Name that song, I dare you.

I am selling all of my extra craft stuff. I've got SOOOOO much of it and it's coming out my ears and I had to be serious with myself and if I don't think I'll use it or have had it for two years and haven't used it, it's gone. Want to score some loot? Check out the shop: Scrap It Up on Etsy.

It's some pretty serious business, at some really sweet prices. If it were me, I'd be buying it because the price is so good, which I think is what got me into this predicament in the first place... hrm. Anyway, I'll be adding stuff for the next little while so just keep checking back. Also, if you need paper, let me know. I don't plan to add any to the shop because figuring out shipping is a hassle, but I need to sell a bunch of what I've got and would happily put a pack together and ship to you. Got it? Mmmkay then.

Are you ready for this? It's more 'getting to know you' Mondays.

Another great list of questions from the internet. I love you Google.

Do you have any pets?
Yah, three. One part-demon cat, one Husband (hey, I have to feed him and clean up after him - that's a pet) and one daughter that thinks she's a dog. Or a cat.

What was the last book you read?
I had to read a book for work, twice - Customer Satisfaction is Worthless. Customer Loyalty is Priceless. Or something like that.

Do you like to cook?
Yes, I do! When I have time.

What's your favorite food?
I like everything except seafood. Ick.

Do you have brothers and sisters?
One older sister, one younger sister, one younger brother.

Which sport do you like?
Ice hockey.

Do you live alone?
Nope.

Do you live in a house or an apartment?
A lovely, lovely house.

Have you ever lived in another country?
I've never even been in another country, let alone lived in one.

Have you ever met a famous person?
OMG I met the kid that played the blind kid in Dumb and Dumber. That definitely counts.

How do you spend your free time?
I craft and bake and clean and organize.

What are your hobbies?
I feel like I just answered this...

What do you do on Sundays?
I blog! And balance my checkbook. And clean. And bake.

What do you do? What's your job?
I am an account manager for a printing company. Wahoo.

What is your motto in life?
Do what makes you happy, as long as it doesn't hurt yourself or other people in the process.

What kind of people do you like?
People that don't kill people.

Which languages do you speak?
English, I know very small pieces of German and Spanish, and I know ASL. Not a spoken language though, so I don't know if that counts.

What are you best at?
Hahahahahaha I don't even know how to answer that question.

Who has had the most influence in your life?
My parents, past friends, grandparents

Would you like to be famous?
Not really. Too much drama comes along with being famous. Unless I get famous for chocolate or cupcakes or something, then HELL YES.

What do you think you will be doing five years from now?
I am not going to be alive five years from now if Punk doesn't stop "singing" in the other room. I'll end it, I swear.

Are you a 'morning' or 'night' person?
Both, depending on the day.

When do you feel best? In the morning, afternoon, or evening?
Kind of the same question, no? Evening.

How many times did you move as a child?
Once.

What cartoon character best describes you?
Well, I'm nicknamed after Booboo Bear so maybe him?

If you could live anywhere in the world for a year, where would it be?
Australia.

If you knew could you try anything and not fail, what dream would you attempt?
Flying a helicopter. How cool would that be?

What super-power would you most like to have, and why?
Mind reading. I would like to know true thoughts rather than the BS that most people feed to other people.

Would you live with someone without marrying them?
Done and done.

Would you rather take pictures or be in pictures?
Take pictures. Please don't make me be in pictures.

Are you a beach, country or city person?
Ohh, the beach. I ♥ the beach.

Where do you spend most of your money?
The mall. Silly question. :) Aeropostale or the craft store.

Hannah Montana Forever. And Ever.

I tried really hard to keep myself Hannah Montana-free. And to be fair, it had nothing to do with her. It had EVERYTHING to do with this...

I was worried she would be like her Daddy, which is scary.

And I'm sorry for you now having that song stuck in your head.

Anyway, because Punk has two houses and therefore two TV's to watch, it was inevitable that sooner or later I'd be overhearing Hannah on my TV. But to be honest, it's not too horrible, and she loves it so that's what really matters, right? Which is why, when Click Communications asked me if I wanted to review the DVD set of Hannah Montana Forever, I couldn't say no. And then when Punk called me one day and was telling me all about how she couldn't wait to see the episode where Hannah finally takes her wig off, I was super happy to be able to give her the DVD's so she can see it anytime she wants.

I feel like it's something every little girl around her age would LOVE to own. And Christmas is right around the corner... Just saying. And, because she is getting a DVD player for Christmas, she will be able to watch these in her room, meaning I can have my TV back. Two plus two equals WIN for Mommy. It's in stores now!

A Winner. Finally. I'm Sorry!

I was gone. Well, not physically, just mentally. Anyway, a winner!

The winner of the Tropical Traditions coconut peanut butter is... drum roll please...

Here are your random numbers:

Yippee, eh? Now, I've e-mailed you and you need to get back to me in the next couple of days or a new winner gets picked. And that's just sad. So get back to me. K thanks! And thanks to everyone that entered; keep coming back and I swear I'll post sometimes. :)
