There are a few different types of waking up (for me, at least).
First, is the natural wake-up. Get up when my body feels is ready to get up. Feel relaxed, and happy, and ready for the day. This very rarely happens after 7:30 because I don't really ever sleep late, but still, waking up on your own is much better than being forcefully woken up by some obnoxious sound.
Second, is the alarm wake-up. Groan, want to cry, feel like hell, but get up anyway and go forward with my life. Terrible, but as I learned this morning, not the worst way to be forced out of bed.
Third, is what I experienced this morning. The cement truck wake-up. This causes anger and violence and all sorts of unhappy things to happen.
Not wanting to break any sound ordinances, they got to our house at 6:03am this morning. A solid three minutes after the sound ordinance lifts. Ugghh REALLY? We didn't expect them until 6:30am, which would have been fine because that's what time my alarm goes off. But that extra 27 minutes is very important to me! I've never felt so sluggish in my life. I imagine this is what it feels like to be woken up by a prison guard slamming his metal bar thingie across the cell bars. Horrible.
But at least we will have the concrete done! I was going to take pictures but was too busy being angry and bitter at the concrete guys.
That is the worst! We had guys up on our roof at 6:30 one morening. I was NOT happy.
ReplyDeleteI agree, I hate being woken up to horrible things like that! Hope you had a better day :)
ReplyDeleteMy new husband and his perky beagle get up by 5.30 everyday. Sometimes earlier.
ReplyDeleteI want to kill them.
Then I go back to sleep... aaargh!
I wouldn't have been happy to see them.

ReplyDeleteHaha...I feel your pain.I used to live in a apartment in town and the building next door had their dumpster in the back, right by my window.ALWAYS woke me up! Thank God it was only once a week.BUT there was also a lumber yard,an armory, and a funeral home within that block. So,constant noise. So glad I live in the country now! Oh wait,I still have noise...neighbors dog barking/howling 24-7,neighbors riding dirtbikes from 7/8am-11pm,sometimes 12(yes,same neighbors!)...and our road is the main road to camping, logging, the ONE store out here,schools,etc...so lots of trucks going by! I TOTALLY FEEL YOUR PAIN! Ever think of headphones or earplugs? May work for you,I've grown accustomed to them.Lol!
