Rock of Ages Review

Thanks to One2One Network, I got to review an amazing CD called Rock of Ages, produced by New Line Records. Rock of Ages is this super rad Broadway based in a Sunset Strip rock club in 1987. Then comes the typical girl-meets-boy story and they fall in love to some of the best 80’s rock ever! P.S. it stars one of my favorite American Idol finalists, Constantine Maroulis.

The CD has 22 songs, from rockers like Journey, Bon Jovi, Poison, Whitesnake, Twisted Sister, and more. Seriously, this is a really great CD and I bet the production is amazing, too. Want to see a video about the making of this soundtrack? Go here.

First, can I tell you that I am a butt-rocker at heart? I grew up in the 80’s with parents who were barely in their 20’s, and big music fans [must be where I get my love of music from]. Butt rock is a BIG part of my memories as a child! I was a headbanger to the core. When I was barely big enough to stand on my own, we had a TV that sat on the floor, and I would crawl to it, pull myself up, and dance to MTV [you know, back when they played *gasp* music!]

This CD has some of the greatest butt rock songs ever recorded. I absolutely loved it! Let me tell you something though – they are Broadway versions of the songs. If you are expecting hair-band screaming, you won’t find it here. But, if you like Broadway and you like acid-wash jeans, you will fall for this CD.

Buy it!
